Trip to Japan Pt. 1 - Nara

Long overdue pics from the country of rising sun, but that's why they always said, "Better late than never," at time like this, right, right?
Last December I wasted my savings to go to the land of my dream with my beloved friends. It was a two weeks journey of survival. Thinking back, it was one kind of miracle for me, who had never travelled that long before and never gone to somewhere below 0 degree, survived the so called heaven and hell named Japan.
At least the fun was worth it *nods nods*
Our first destination was Nara Temple, well you see, we had to clear our body and mind first before we can travel around, it's a tradision passed from more than thousands years ago. Yes, I'm just bluffing.
It was raining when we reached there, a sign that heaven blessed us all for overcoming hours of sitting and waiting to reach there. Deers welcomed us, or rather staring at us with puppy eyes (deers do have puppy eyes, I tell you), hoping that we would bought them snacks. You could see green and orange leaves around us, it didn't give you impression that it was winter, if not for the freezing air on our exposed skin.
Inside there's a pillar with hole about big enough for one person. They said if you're able to cross it, your wish will come true. My friends could, I didn't try, why bother when your long awaited dream just came true?
The scenery was beautiful and I was more than happy to see maple leaf (momiji) even though it was winter. I had fun watching my friend fed and almost being chased by deers too.
If only I didn't lose one of my gloves here... Sigh.Labels: life, photo

Eeh?
I went to doctor today, when I finished and waited for my medicine, people from TransTV were shooting some film. I was in, and right at that moment I knew that I'm not fit to be an actress because I couldn't afford to stop laughing ...Well, at least I know that coincidence is scary.

So awkward day
All of you must know the story of someone being heavily drunk, went home to find their friends already invaded their place with colorful things and shouted, "Surprise!!"? Awkward, yes? I haven't experienced that, but I sure know how it feels to be waken up from deep sleep to find your friend with a cake in front of you and your family behind her, taking pictures of you who were still half awake on bed. Lucky I'm not the type who sleeps in nude.

Strange Day

Usually I only put one glass of water on my desk. When it's empty I will go to the kitchen and refill it. Today my mother suddenly put 1L bottle beside it. She told me to drink more, at least 3L per day. Less than 15 minutes later my father came with another bottle of oxygen water. He told me that oxygen water is good for my health.
This is how I ended up with 2 bottles and one glass on my desk.
I want to go to planetarium, strange that I suddenly wish to go today. I went to planetarium only once before, on a school trip. My memory is quite blur but I remember it was beautiful and the narration is pretty good.
So I went, as simple as that. Less than 5 minutes after reaching there I found out that the tickets were sold out. Some school were having school trip today, the hall was pretty much crowded with a bunch of kids lining up.
After coming all the way here, it would be a waste if I went straight home so I took a walk around. There's an old book store, they sell second hand and new books but both are pretty cheap.
What surprised me was the fact that there's theatre inside, and it's really really cheap, half the usual price on weekdays. There's also mini game arcade with half the usual price also. I played as I waited for the theatre to open. It was fun even though I suck and died continuously on shooting games.
I watched Knowing. I thought it was horror, turned out it's an 'end-of-the-world' film but I have to admit it scares me more than a horror movie.
Today is strange, but fun. I still haven't fullfilled my wish to go inside planetarium, ...shall I go again tomorrow?

Tried to become a kitchen girl for once and cooked. Unlike the appearance, it actually tasted good.

about
Greetings to all! Thank you for visiting my site.
'Things in the Folder' is my personal site where I put my own journal, works and demoreel. I'm an animator who just graduated from 3dsense Media School and currently searching for job.
Why 'animator'? I guess the most cliche yet true answer is, "I love animation." I love to see characters come to life. They're not real but they're able to walk, talk but most importantly, they're able to move people's heart. I want to be able to touch people's heart with my animation as well, just like how I was moved by them before.
I have a heart for cute characters and things. My works are greatly influenced by Japanese culture, even though I'm an Indonesian myself. I love sketches and sketchy feeling in drawings. Abstract and pastel colors are also my favorite.
I spend most of my time in front of computer, doing things, from browsing to animating, everything. When I'm bored I love to walk around and see new places or things.
That's it about me, nice to meet you.
Dian.
